Young Environmentalist Awards
Volvo,
the Swedish car manufacturer runs an annual award scheme worldwide.
In 1997, Volvo Cars UK launched a practical environmental
projects scheme to support environmental education and action
for young people.
What
is the funding for?
The Awards are for practical environmental projects planned
and carried out by young people. The project could address
any of the following topics:
• Biodiversity
• Energy
• Transport
• Water conservation
• Waste and recycling
How
much money is available?
Ten awards of £500 will be presented each year. The
judging panel will be looking for one successful project to
go through to the International Volvo Adventure and a possibility
of winning up to US$10,000 for their group.
Who
can apply?
Any group of young people aged between 10 and 16 for example
youth clubs, scouts, schools or environmental groups.
