Relief
Sport
Relief was set up by Comic Relief and BBC Sport to tackle
poverty and disadvantage throughout the U.K. The Scottish
Community Foundation delivers the Sport Relief grants programme
in Scotland on behalf of Comic Relief.
What
is the funding for?
Projects
that use sport and exercise to strengthen communities and
provide opportunities for people who are excluded or disadvantaged.
This may be through low income, rural or social isolation,
age, disability, race, sexuality or gender. Sport Relief is
not simply about supporting sports activities
Specifically
support projects which address one of the
following two criteria.
When applying you MUST identify which of the two criteria
your project relates to and explain how:
- Increasing
access to sport and exercise for people who face social
exclusion or isolation.
- Helping
people who are experiencing difficulties in their lives
to regain their confidence and self-esteem.
How
much money is available?
Grants
will range from £1,000-£10,000
Who
can apply?
Any community groups or local charities are invited to apply
for the grants.
