The Scottish Community
Foundation was established in 1996 to support locally based
charities and community groups throughout Scotland. Grant
assistance is made possible through their own resources and
through their work in partnership with other funders including
Dunfermline Building Society.the Hilden Charitable Fund and
the Sportsman's Charity.
Main
Grants Scheme
What is
the funding for?
The
aim of the Foundation is to assist charities in their work
to improve the quality of life within Scotland, especially
in areas where funding is hard to find. Projects considered
will be in the fields of either social welfare or community
development. Grants will fund any of the following: equipment,
maintenance costs, insurance, training, general running costs,
accommodation, sessional costs and volunteer expenses.
How much
money is available?
For
the Main Grants programme, a maximum of £5,000 can be
applied for.
Who can
apply?
Applications
will be considered from charities and community groups within
Scotland, who are working within the areas of social welfare
or community development. Groups must be properly constituted,
have a bank or building society account and be able to provide
a copy of their most recent accounts.
When to
apply
There
is no closing date, so applications can be made at any time.
Decisions for the Main Grants programme will usually be made
within three months of applying.
