The Scottish Executive
is the devolved government for Scotland and is responsible
for the day to day issues such as health, education and rural
affairs that concern the people of Scotland.
Scottish
Community Renewables Initiative
This is a new programme,
funded by the Scottish Executive, covering all of Scotland.
The Energy Savings Trust is managing the household component
of the S.C.R.I. on behalf of the Scottish Executive.
Household
Grants
What is
the funding for?
To
encourage householders to play their part in protecting the
environment and to help build a renewable energy industry
in Scotland. Eligible technologies under the scheme include:
- micro hydro –
electric
- micro wind
- solar water
and space heating
- ground
source heat pumps powered by renewable electricity
- automated
wood fuel heating systems
- solar PV
in dwellings not connected by the electricity grid.
How much
money is available?
Funding
is set at 30% of the installed cost. The maximum grant is
£4,000. Any capital cost of up to £13,300 will
attract funding. Householders can spend more than this and
still be eligible but the amount in excess will not attract
grant aid.
Who can
apply?
Grants
are available for owner occupied residential dwellings in
Scotland.
