Scottish
Community Projects Fund
Established by
the Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland, the Scottish
Community Projects Fund aims to involve local communities
in the design, use and management of buildings and spaces
that they use.
What is
the funding for?
The
Fund awards grants to community projects that need to employ
an architect or other professional to prepare a feasibility
study for buildings or environmental improvement projects,
or projects that will encourage employment in the locality.
Examples of projects funded could be, community centres, local
employment workshops, facilities for the elderly and the re-use
of derelict or unused ground. The aim is to involve local
people in the business processes related to buildings and
environmental improvements.
How much
money is available?
Grants
are available for up to half of the cost of a feasibility
study, with a maximum of £2,000 inclusive of VAT.
Who can
apply?
Community
led organisations who are representative and properly constituted.
The proposed project must provide wide ranging benefit to
the community.
