Scottish
Churches Community Trust
The Scottish Churches
Community Trust is an inter-church initiative which seeks
to relieve poverty by providing grants, resources and support.
What is
the funding for?
The
Trust aims to support projects that seek to alleviate poverty
and provide support for disadvantaged people within the community.
How much
money is available?
Grants
are normally in the region of between £3,000 and £5,000
per annum and may be one off grants or for a period of between
one and four years. The maximum grant normally available is
£20,000 over a period of over four years. The Trust
will not normally support more than one third of the total
costs of a project.
Who can
apply?
The
Trust will support work developed either by local churches,
or community groups who are actively supported by the church.
It will give priority to churches and other organisations
with minimal resources operating in areas of greatest disadvantage.
Other groups will have to demonstrate a clear need.
When to
apply
Applications
can be made at any time, and are considered by the Board twice
each year in May and in November. Applications must arrive
before 13 April 2008 for the May
Board, and before 12 October 2008 for the
November Board.
All money
has been allocated for the year 2007.
