The Scottish Community
Foundation was established in 1996 to support locally based
charities and community groups throughout Scotland. Grant
assistance is made possible through their own resources and
through their work in partnership with other funders including
Dunfermline Building Society, Hilden Charitable Fund and the
Sportsman’s Charity.

Community, Your Environment
What
is the funding for?
This is a grant scheme aimed at helping community groups deliver
sustainable environmental projects in their local area. It
is designed to help projects in their early stages and take
ideas forward. Projects must be concerned firstly with the
local environment and must also contain social or economic
benefits. The types of activity that will be funded:
• Conduct a feasibility study, carry out research or
prepare a business plan
• Hold a public meeting, carry out a survey or produce
a publication
• Buy training, attend a seminar or build a website
As part of the application, groups can apply for up to £1,000
for capital expenses, providing they are linked to the activities
outlined above.
How
much money is available?
Between £1,000 and £5,000
Who
can apply?
Any not for profit group or organisation.
When
to apply
There are three closing dates for applications:
21st October 2005 / 9th December 2005/ 24th February 2006
Projects must be completed and funding spent within six months
of receiving grant.
