Scottish
Community Foundation
NB Only
available this year until 30th April 2010 and for 4 organisations
only.
The Scottish
Community Foundation was established in 1996 to support locally
based charities and community groups throughout Scotland.
The funding for the Comic Relief Communities Programme is
devolved to the Community Foundation Network.
Our
Community Our Future.
The Scottish
Community Foundation will assist groups of motivated community
members to explore an issue further, get more people involved,
get their group organised, develop a plan of action and move
to the next stage.
The emphasis is on communities coming together to achieve
positive change, particularly in response to new challenges
and trends which affect people whose voices may not be heard.
What is different about it?
This is an opportunity to access flexible mentoring support
over 12-18 months combined with access to a budget that can
help you learn more and get things done.
You don’t have to be set up as a constituted group to
get involved.
We will support a small number of groups from across Scotland,
covering a variety of different ideas or issues. We’re
looking for four groups to start working with this year.
What’s
involved?
Our staff will work flexibly with you to facilitate discussion
within your group, provide advice, and help you develop your
skills and knowledge.
A budget will be available to assist with the costs of research,
training or further learning, or to implement your action
plan.
At the end of the period you will:
· have tested out your concern/idea with other community
members
· have strengthened the group and got new people involved
· have gathered research to support your plans
· worked out who you need to influence or be in contact
with, and how
· be in a position to take your idea to the next stage
in a planned way
