that helps young people overcome barriers and get their lives
working.
Through
practical support including training, mentoring and financial
assistance, they can help 14-30 year olds realise their potential
and transform their lives.
Focusing
there efforts on those who've struggled at school, been in
care, been in trouble with the law, or are long-term unemployed.
What
is the funding for?
To help young people set up a project that will benefit
their community. For example a new basketball court, a music
studio, a youth club, sex education workshops in schools,
a youth advisory board, even a local magazine. Projects must
:
- be run
and managed by people between the ages of 14 and 25
- clearly benefit the local community
- benefit the people running the project; and
- be a new or developing project.
How
much money is available?
This depends
on your age:
- Funding
of up to £1,000 is available for 14-16 year olds
- Funding
of up to £5,000 is available for those aged 16-25
Who
can apply?
Anyone who is:
* unemployed
* underachieving in school (achieving less than 5 GSCEs grades
A-C)
* an offender / ex-offender
* in or leaving care
