Scottish
Power Green Energy Trust
The Green
Energy Trust was established in 1998 and supports the development
of new renewable energy sources in the UK. It is funded entirely
by Scottish Power’s Green Energy Fund customers and
offers grants to a wide range of projects that increase our
knowledge and usage of renewable energy.
What
is the funding for?
The ScottishPower Green Energy Trust supports small scale
community based environmental and educational renewable energy
projects. The Trust considers all kinds of renewable technologies,
including small-scale hydro, wind power, biomass, landfill
gas, solar energy and ground source heat pumps. Applications
involving other technologies may also qualify for support.
Grant requests must be to support the capital and installation
costs of a renewable energy project.
How
much money is available?
The Trust can provide up to 50% of the project costs to a
maximum of £25,000.
Who
can apply?
Any group wishing to run a renewable energy project or a renewable
energy education project which will bring benefit to the community.
When
to apply
At any time. Decisions on applications are made at Trustees
meetings during the year.
