Getting
Started
There are many
different reasons for starting up a community group or project.
It could be to provide a service, address a need or to generally
improve the quality of life for local people. Or, it could
simply be the joining together of a group of people who share
the same interests, such as an art group or the local badminton
club.
Whatever the reason,
the need for a clear structure is essential. The Buchan Community
Toolbox aims to set out the requirements you will need to
satisfy, to ensure that your group or organisation runs smoothly
from the outset.
The topics covered
here are:
1) Group structure
2) Writing a constitution
3) Meetings and
committees
4) Managing money
5) Applying for
charitable status
