Foundation
The
Foyle Foundation is an independent grantmaking Trust that
distributes grants to UK charities whose core work is in
the areas of Arts and Learning.
What is the funding for?
The Foundation now operates a Main Grants
Scheme supporting charities whose core work covers Arts and
Learning and a Small Grants Scheme covering small charities
in all fields.
Main Grants Scheme
Arts:The Foundation seeks
applications that make a strong artistic case for support
in either the performing or visual arts, that particularly
help you to develop your artistic vision. Other priorities
are:

to help make the arts more accessible by developing new audiences,
supporting tours, festivals and arts educational projects;
and
·
by encouraging new work and supporting young and emerging
artists
Building
and infrastructure projects to construct new arts facilities,
improve or re-equip existing venues will also be considered.
Community
arts activity will not generally be supported.
Learning:
The Foundation seeks to make a difference by supporting projects
which facilitate the acquisition of knowledge and which have
a long-term strategic impact. The Foundation’s main
priorities for support are:

libraries, museums and archives; and
• special educational needs and learning difficulties
State
funded schools and special schools may be supported (see special
guidance notes). Private schools will not generally be supported.
Citizenship,
esteem-building, training, skills acquisition to aid employment,
independent living, early learning projects or playgroups
will not generally be considered.
How
much money is available?
Generally
between £10,000 to £50,000
Small
Grants Scheme
Their
Small Grants Scheme is designed to support smaller charities
in the UK, especially those working at grass roots and local
community level, in any field, across a wide range of activities
and which can demonstrate that such a grant will make a significant
difference to their work. Applications are welcomed from charities
that have an annual turnover of less than £100,000 per
annum.
How
much money is available?
Between
£1,000 and £10,000
Who can apply?
Applications should be for the benefit of
people in the United Kingdom. Applications from individuals
or organisations without charitable status will be ineligible.
