Landfill Communities Fund, (LCF)
This tax credit
scheme encourages and enables landfill site operators to contribute
money to approved Environmental Bodies to carry out "environmental"

1996 Landfill Tax Regulations.
What is
the funding for?
The LCF
will support
a wide range of environmental projects, as long as they comply
with one or more of the following Objects:
Object A. to remediate contaminated land
Object
B . projects that reduce or prevent pollution on
land
Object
D . projects that provide or maintain public ammenities
or parks within 10 miles of a landfill site
Object
DA . to preserve biodiversity (either species or
habitats) at a site or in water
Object

building of architectural interest.
Object
F: To provide a service to another Environmental
Body.
(objects c
and cc were removed on 1st April 2003)
How much
money is available?
Grants made through the LCF
are
made entirely at the discretion of the landfill operators. The
most common way to receive funding is to approach a Distributive
Environmental Body (DEB). These bodies distribute funds on
behalf of the landfill operator or for more than one LOs.
DEBs help others to access the LCF monies.
