The Dickie
Bird Foundation
The foundation
was established in March 2004 by Dickie Bird with the aim
of helping disadvantaged young people throughout the UK to
participate in sport.
What
is the funding for?
The foundation aims to give financial assistance to disadvantaged
young people under 18 years of age to participate to the best
of their ability in the sport of their choice. Grants will
be made irrespective of social circumstances or cultural background
to ensure they improve their chances both inside and outside
sport. They can fund: Sports kit and equipment and travel
within the UK.
How
much money is available?
The minimum amount is £100 and the maximum £5,000.
Who
can apply?
Individuals under the age of 18.
When
to apply
The Foundation Trustees meet once every two months.
Meeting
are usually the third week of the month
February,
April, June, August, October and December
