Arts Award
The Dewar Arts
Awards were launched in 2002 in memory of Scotland’s
first First Minister, Donald Dewar.
What
is the funding for?
Funding is awarded to young Scots of exceptional talent across
all the art forms, without the financial means to realise
their ambitions.
How
much money is available?
Each case is looked at on an individual basis.
Who
can apply?
Any young person who is living, working or studying in Scotland
and aged between 15 and 30 years who has an outstanding ability
as an artist, performer or writer in any branch of the creative
industries.
When
to apply
Nominations can be submitted throughout the year. The trustees
usually meet every 4 months and this year shall be held in
the third week of February, May, July and November.
How
to apply
Candidates can be nominated through a tutor, employer or any
other professional assessor. Shortlisted candidates will then
have their work assessed by professionals in their chosen
