Communities
Scotland is a Scottish Executive agency that aims to work
with others to ensure decent housing and strong communities
throughout Scotland.
What
is the funding for?
“Wider Role” means, the activities that registered
social landlords carry out that go beyond providing, improving
and managing housing. The aim of these wider role activities
is to improve the economic, social and environmental circumstances
of the communities a registered social landlord works with.
Communities Scotland are likely to support projects that meet
the needs of disadvantaged groups by tackling poverty, building
strong and safe communities and helping to support people
get back to work. Projects must also fit with local strategies
and be sustainable.
How
much money is available?
Each project will be assessed individually.
Who
can apply?
The fund is only available to registered social landlords
or to voluntary organisations that are specifically supporting
registered social landlords’ wider role activity.
When
to apply
Communities Scotland offices can take applications on an ongoing
basis and there are no deadlines. However, if you are planning
to apply it is best to contact your local office as soon as
possible so you can discuss the application.
