NOSE DAY UK GRANTS PROGRAMMES 2005-08
Comic
Relief is an organisation committed to helping end poverty
and social injustice both in the U.K. and in some of the poorest
countries in the world. Money is raised through Red Nose Day
which has been running for nine years.
What
is the funding for?
In the U.K., grant programmes aim to tackle poverty and social
injustice by encouraging people to make lasting and positive
changes to their communities. During 2005-2008 funding will
be allocated to five specific areas :
- Young
people
- Older
people
- Mental
health
- Refugees
and Asylum Seekers
- Domestic
violence
- Disadvantaged
communities
How
much money is available?
There are two funding programmes, one of up to £5K and
£5K and over.
Grants
of up to £5,000 will be awarded to groups with projects
involved with :-
- Older
people
- Mental
health
- Disadvantaged
communities
Who
can apply?
Any voluntary organisation or self – help group based
in the U.K.. Applications are welcomed from small community
projects and larger organisations, especially in the areas
that usually miss out on funding .
When
to apply
Applications
of under £5000, can
be made at anytime.
