The
Wakeham Trust
An anonymous
donor established the Wakeham Trust in 1973. They provide
grants to help people rebuild their communities and particularly
interested in neighbourhood projects, community arts projects,
projects involving community service by young people, or projects
set up by those who are socially excluded.
They aim
to refresh the parts that other funding sources can't reach,
especially new ideas and unpopular causes. Because they don't
appeal to the public for funds, they can take risks.
What
is the funding for?
The Funders
are very flexible on what they will fund. They prefer organisations
that are small, have no paid staff, have the potential to
be self-supporting and will make a difference to as many people
as possible. They suggest you look at what they have funded
in the past - click here
to do so.
How
much money is available?
£75
to £750.
Who can apply?
Funds
can only be allocated to registered UK charities. However,
these could be given to non-charities via a willing local
charity who could be allocated the funds and then pass them
on. Small groups with no paid staff.
