The
Pool
The
Pool is Development Trust Association Scotland's (DTAS) new
practitioner consultancy service, a collaboration between
DTAS and its member trusts. It draws on the unique and very
valuable asset that lies within our members, staff and wider
contacts - a wealth of grassroots expertise and knowledge
of community regeneration, asset development and cultivating
local enterprise. It has been established to give communities
a consultancy service made up of experts in their field and
at the same time further the aims and objectives of ,and generate
income fo, DTAS and member trusts.
What
will the Pool do?
A wide
range of consultancy work related to development trusts, community
assets and community regeneration. A similar organisation
previously launched in England has been successful over the
past 12 months in winning contracts and grants for a wide
range of work (www.thepooldta.co.uk).The Pool will be aiming
to develop a similar broad range of work in Scotland including:
* preparation, appraisal, implementation, monitoring and evaluation
of community enterprise and assets projects and programmes
* collective intelligence report - a self-contained 'reality-check/critical
friend' service offering a collective expert opinion on either
practical or policy proposals
* an independent mentoring support service for senior staff
in public, voluntary and social enterprise organisations within
the neighbourhoods sector.
* training and seminars.
If you have a project which you would like the Pool to undertake
or bid for please contact Toby Johns, DTAS' Head of Consultancy,
