The Scottish
Executive is the devolved government for Scotland and is responsible
for the day to day issues such as health, education and rural
affairs that concern the people of Scotland.
Central
Heating and Insulation Programme
What
is the funding for?
The scheme is intended to lift approximately 140,000 Scottish
households out of fuel poverty who currently have no central
heating or adequate insulation. The scheme will run until
2006, and priority will be given to households over the age
of 75, elderly people living alone, disabled persons or those
with long term illness.
How
much money is available?
The scheme covers the cost of new central heating and or insulation.
Who
can apply?
People over the age of 60 who own their own home. People over
the age of 60 who rent from a private landlord and tenants
of Councils, Housing Associations or co operatives of any
age.
When
to apply
At any time. The scheme will run until 2006.
