SITA Trust

SITA Trust is a funding organisation that supports community and environmental improvement projects through the distribution of funding from Landfill Tax Credits. . Organisations can apply directly to them for funding.They support community improvement projects around qualifying waste treatment sites owned by the waste management company SITA UK.

There are 2 sites in the north of Scotland for which SITA Trust distribute Landfill Tax Credits:.

In Aberdeenshire - SITA Trust can fund community projects around the Stoneyhill Landfill Site in the Buchan area of Aberdeenshire. Submissions are welcomed from applicants within 10 miles of this site.

In Inverness - SITA Trust can support community projects within 3 miles of SITA UK's Inverness waste facility.

Enhancing Communities Programme

Enhancing Communities is the name of SITA Trust's funding programme for community improvement projects. They can support projects around qualifying waste treatment sites owned by the recycling and waste management company, SITA UK.

What is the funding for?

They support projects that make physical improvements to community facilities, sports projects and historic buildings / structures (NB only grade A/! listed Church buildings in Scotland).

How much money is available?

There are two funds available:
Small Grants Scheme - fast-track funding programme for projects up to £10,000.

Large Grants Scheme - for projects between £10,001 and £50,000.

Who can apply?
Not for profit organisations, community groups, community councils, Local Authorities and charities can apply.

When to apply

Remaining Application deadlines for 2010:

10am on 29th November 2010

Application deadlines for 2010:

10am on 2nd February 2010 (Board decision 13th April 2010)
10am on 1st April 2010 (Board decision 15th June 2010)
10am on 4th June 2010 (Board decision 17th August 2010)
10am on 9th August 2010 (Board decision 19th October 2010)
10am on 11th October 2010 (Board decision 14th December 2010)
