that helps young people overcome barriers and get their lives
working.
Through
practical support including training, mentoring and financial
assistance, they can help 14-30 year olds realise their potential
and transform their lives.
Focusing
their efforts on those who've struggled at school, been in
care, been in trouble with the law, or are long-term unemployed.
What
is the funding for?
Among other things, a Development Award can be used
to:
* buy clothes
for a job interview or new job
* cover fees for a training course
* fund childcare costs to help you attend a college course
* buy equipment, materials or tools
* pay for travel costs to a work placement, training course
or job

* University course
fees
* Gap years
* Organisations
How much money is available?
* A grant of up
to £500
* Support to help set goals, make decisions and find other
programmes or support
Who
can apply?
You must be either:
* aged 14-16,
in education, and at risk of achieving fewer than 5 GCSEs
grades A-C, or
* aged 16-25 and not in education, training or work (or working
less than 16 hours a week)
