The PRS Foundation for New Music (PRSF)

A variety of music awards

The PRS Foundation for New Music (PRSF) is the UK's largest independent funder purely for new music of any genre.

Its main aims are to stimulate and support the creation and performance of new music in the UK, ensuring this reaches a wide audience. In addition, it motivates public debate about creative music-making in the UK, for example through ground-breaking projects such as the New Music Award.

What is the funding for?

To inspire and stimulate the creation of an imaginative and original piece of new British music. .

In other words to ignite the imagination of the creative community and also dramatically raise the profile and level of debate around contemporary British music (much in the same way that the Turner Prize does for contemporary British art). There are a wide range of funds that can be applied for:

Awards to Organisations, Festivals, Performance Groups, Composers

How much money is available?
Grants vary depending on category.

Who can apply?

Individuals, groups, organisations or consortiums.

When to apply

Deadlines vary from August to October 2009 depending on the type of fund.
