Faiths in Scotland Community Action Fund

FiSCAF—Faiths in Scotland Community Action Fund works with local faith groups as they build hope and struggle against poverty by providing grants and support in Scotland’s most fragile urban and rural communities.(It replaces and expands on the formerThe Scottish Churches Community Trust).

What is the funding for?
They want to be a flexible funder which responds to local need so that people and communities grow and change for the better. In your application, you will have to tell them about…

…what aspect of poverty and inequality you are tackling (outline the need, your response and how you will measure change)

…why your faith inspires you to take this action (demonstrate that the proposed work and its ethos is rooted in faith)

…how you will encourage the widest possible participation (indicate how you plan to build real and meaningful relationships beyond your own immediate circle and how this will enhance your work)

How much money is available?
They will consider applications of up to £15,000. This may be spread over a maximum of three years, with no more than £7,500 being awarded in the first year.

Who can apply?
Locally based faith groups in Scotland wishing to undertake practical action in response to community need, particularly in the economically poorest urban and rural communities

When to apply
Applications are considered twice each year in June (deadline 30 April) and November (deadline 30 September).

How to apply
You should complete a Eligibility Checklist to check for yourself if you meet their application criteria and whether or not you can apply.

Once you have completed the checklist and decided if you are eligible to apply, send an email to kenneth@fiscaf.org outline briefly what you want to do and to request a copy of their grant application form.
