Community Asset Fund
The
Aberdeenshire Asset Fund for Communities has been drawn up
to enable community organisations, large and small, to look
at developing an asset or service that will give the organisation
an ongoing income. The Fund is financed by Aberdeenshire Council.
What
is the funding for?
The fund can be used for; feasibility studies, consultants’
reports, business plans, purchase of plant and equipment and/or
assets for the start of the venture. Pre-identified hours
of in-house working can also be covered by the fund, but applicants
will be expected to have other funding sources. In-kind support
will be restricted to 20% of any project.This fund is not
available to fund existing assets, services nor existing organisational
expenditure.
How much
money is available?
Maximum award will
be £10,000 and the minimum will be £500. Only
one award will be granted per project.Only one award will
be granted to an organisation within any 6-month period. The
fund will have to be matched by at least 50% of funding from
other sources.
Who can
apply?
Eligible applicants
are social enterprises and community organisations that can
demonstrate an economic enterprise proposal that will contribute
towards the development of an asset and/or service to generate
on-going additional revenue for the organisation.The proposal
must not have a detrimental effect on existing Aberdeenshire
businesses.No employee of Aberdeenshire Council can promise
assistance, as every case is discretionary.
Each application
is judged on its own merit and the Council’s decision
is final.
