Aberdeenshire Council
Aberdeenshire
Community Asset Fund
This
fund reopened in August for 2010/11 funding
The Aberdeenshire
Community Asset Fund has been drawn up to enable community
organisations, large and small, to look at developing an asset
or service that will give the organisation an ongoing income.
The Fund is financed by Aberdeenshire Council and Scottish
Enterprise.
What
is the funding for?
The fund can be used for; feasibility studies, consultants’
reports, business plans, purchase of plant and equipment and/or
assets for the start of the venture. Pre-identified hours
of in-house working can also be covered by the fund, but applicants
will be expected to have other funding sources. In-kind support
will be restricted to 20% of any project.
How
much money is available?
Maximum award will be £10,000 and the minimum
will be £500.The fund will have to be matched by at
least 50% of funding from other sources.
Who can apply?
Eligible applicants are social enterprises and community
organisations that can demonstrate an enterprise proposal
that will contribute towards the development of an asset and/or
service to generate on-going revenue for the organisation. The
fund is likely to be over-subscribed so those projects which
are well articulated with supporting evidence, have good leverage
of other funding and demonstrates community economic benefit
will probably score higher.
Any projects which have commenced or committed expenditure
will unfortunately be ineligible since any retrospective funding
is
not allowable.
When
to apply

Hutchison, details below, to whom initial enquiries to discuss
your project should be made.
